NICM Link - Non Intrusive Control & Monitoring System

Ideally, every solar system should be fitted with a device that measures its performance and records the data for future analysis. The NICM device developed by Nuaire is capable of transmitting and receiving monitoring and control information typically to and from a laptop computer located within 30 meters of the device and fitted with a NICM-LINK transmitting/receiving kit.
The NICM-LINK software runs under Windows 98 / ME / 2000 / XP and can be used to download data or monitor the system on a real-time basis. Other features include capabilities to remotely change some of the control parameters such as fan speed, etc.

The device measures and records the following information regarding the unit:

Supply air temperature
House temperature
Outside air temperature
Loft temperature
Solar collector temperature
Target temperature
Water flow temperature
Return water temperature

The data is kept on a 12 month rolling basis, unless it is downloaded before then. In addition the property address, installer’s details, installation date and relevant notes can also be input manually into the logging facility by the user.

A typical graph is shown.
